Mauger was among the try-scorers for New Zealand at Twickenham |
New Zealand centre Aaron Mauger will miss the final match of their European tour against Wales on Saturday and is flying home because of a knee injury. The 26-year-old damaged his right knee during the victory over England earlier this month and aggravated it in training in Paris last week.
Mauger earned his 38th cap in the 41-20 victory at Twickenham.
He will fly home on Wednesday and could be out of action for between four and six weeks if he undergoes surgery.
The All Blacks, who won both their games against France and play their final Test of the year at the Millennium Stadium, will not call up a replacement.
In the Canterbury star's absence Luke McAlister could play at inside centre this weekend.
Coach Graham Henry is due to name his team for the Cardiff clash on Tuesday.
