I can't underestimate the fact that England won.
South Africa missed some chances but players deserve what they put in and they did not deserve to beat England because they made too many mistakes.
England did not make as many mistakes, scored the important tries and they won, and I am pleased for them in that sense.
But next week they have to win a bit more convincingly to make that next progression.
It is easy to say that the basic skills were horrendous, I thought it was a better performance than against Argentina last week.
England are still not in a great position but I think the whole squad will be so buoyed by the victory.
Head coach Andy Robinson can't analyse this game too much, they have to put it behind them.
I think they are going to struggle a bit in the second Test next week because Charlie Hodgson is not there and if Andy Goode is the next best fly-half for England - it does not look great.
A win is a win and England were desperate to get it.
But it was another desperate performance, the basic skills were horrendous once again and they should have been 33-6 down at half-time.
The win was the most important thing for England and for Andy Robinson otherwise he could have been out of a job on Sunday morning.
Things could have been different if England were up against a better side who took their chances.
Was that an improved performance from last week? I thought it was worse.
South Africa will take a lot more from that game than England will.
The Springboks created far more opportunities, they broke the England defence down because England's inside defence was very lazy.
There was also the kicking. If Butch James had his boots on, the game would have been over at half-time.
It will be very interesting to see how the two sides approach the game next week because this is the crunch game in next year's World Cup.
