Carter replaces Evans in NZ team
Dan Carter makes a pass during All Blacks training this week
Carter is considered the best player in the world

Live on BBC1, BBC Radio Five Live and the BBC Sport website

Star fly-half Dan Carter will start for the All Blacks in Sunday's Test against England after Nick Evans was forced out with a hamstring injury.

Evans' withdrawal was confirmed on Friday, meaning England will confront the man who inspired New Zealand to victory at Twickenham last November.

Full-back Leon MacDonald will take Carter's place among the replacements.

Flanker Jerry Collins and number eight Rodney So'oialo, who is on the bench, are among those 'rested' for the match.

Skipper Richie McCaw will have former captain Reuben Thorne and Chris Masoe alongside him in the back row, both of whom have had little match practice of late.

Ma'a Nonu was chosen ahead of Conrad Smith to start alongside Aaron Mauger at centre.

It is Nonu's first start since breaking his thumb against Ireland in June.

New Zealand lock Keith Robinson

In total, there are seven changes to the team that lost 21-20 to South Africa in Rustenburg in September, including the return of lock Keith Robinson.

Robinson is in the team for the first time in two and a half years after overcoming serious back and knee injuries.

"It's quite a remarkable story, isn't it?" said head coach Graham Henry. "The tenacity and courage he's shown not to forego the dream he had."

Henry has hinted he he will put his strongest side out for the third Test of their tour, and second against France, in a fortnight.

"We've got exciting Test matches ahead. We are going to try to play as many players as possible in the first two games (against England and France)," said Henry.

We expect a physical contest this weekend

All Blacks coach Graham Henry
"That way the majority will get on the track and then we can pick the best 22 for the third game in Paris against the French and then in Wales in Cardiff. That policy was stated before we left."

But Henry, who has spent the last 18 months developing cover for every position, insists he is not taking England lightly.

"We have selected a strong team, we are playing quality opposition and they have a strong team out and this is probably not far off our best team," said Henry.

"We expect a physical contest this weekend and another against France six days later.

"Part of our strategy to be successful in those two Tests is to have some fresh legs available for the match in Lyon."

The omission of hooker Anton Oliver means he will be spared what could have been a rough ride at Twickenham after he described England supporters as "arrogant" in a newspaper interview earlier this week
