Newcastle and Newport-Gwent Dragons were the top scorers, each scoring 50 points in a high-scoring opening night of the European Challenge Cup. Toby Flood kicked 20 points and John Rudd scored two tries as Newcastle thumped Italian side Petrarca 50-5.
