White will lead the Scots challenge in South Africa |
Jason White believes that Scotland are approaching their double header against South Africa with growing confidence. The Scots last visited the Springboks in 2003 when they lost 29-25 and 28-19.
Speaking ahead of the games in Durban and Port Elizabeth, the captain said: "We had a good Six Nations campaign and we want to carry on that improvement.
"But we need to respect South Africa because they are ranked number two and that shows how good they are and how much they've improved in recent years."
Meanwhile, Scotland coach Frank Hadden has warned that his tour squad have to rise to the challenge and avoid complacency.
"We can't just rock up and think because we have never won a Test here it's about time it happens," he said.
"We need to show we can play equally well when we're not at Murrayfield.
"But this tour is extremely important for our World Cup build-up, which we kicked off with our win over the Barbarians last week.
"We will need to play consistently well for 80 minutes."
