I don't think it is a big surprise that Phil Davies has announced he will resign as Leeds Tykes director of rugby.
I think he felt he's been there long enough, he's taken the club as far as he could.
All the structures are in place, all the academies and I think Leeds are going to fill his role with the Academy coach.
Despite Leeds' relegation this season, Phil Davies is leaving with a good reputation and they're happy for him to move on.

But also it's a statement that while he was there, I don't think anyone could have thought about approaching him.
Now he's a free agent and there are clubs in England who may want Phil as well as Llanelli Scarlets.
There's rumours of Rob Andrew going to the England set-up, Brian Ashton maybe, so there's Newcastle and Bath.
Phil has choices to go different places, but of course there are rumours of Llanelli Scarlets or maybe another Welsh region.
Cardiff Blues coach Dai Young is very well respected and maybe an English club would want him.
So I just think Phil Davies has set his stall out and has said he is up to move.
I think he has had offers, but I don't think he knows where he is going.
