A last-gasp drop goal from Ali Hepher gave Bedford a 37-35 win over Exeter in the Powergen Trophy semi-finals. Exeter, seeking a third appearance at Twickenham, got off to a flyer when Kevin Barrett put centre Mark Fatialofa in for the game's first try.
But Cup holders Bedford replied with three tries to open up a 27-11 lead.
The Chiefs hit back looked set for victory when Tony Yapp landed a penalty to put them in front, but Hepher's late kick sealed a place in the final.
