Davies is pushing for a Lions place |
Wales hooker Mefin Davies has signed a new two-year contract with Gloucester. Davies, 32, had been playing at Kingsholm on a short-term deal after leaving Celtic Warriors and was working part-time as an engineer.
The Grand Slam winner joined Gloucester in December and will remain with the Cherry and Whites until 2007.
"Playing in a Gloucester shirt is inspiring. It's given me a fresh start and it's got to be good for Wales," Davies told the club's website.
"The last year has been quite unbelievable," he added.
"From losing my job just before I got married, through to playing lower division rugby, and then the autumn internationals, moving to Gloucester, winning the Grand Slam, and now the new contract."
