Cueto targets place on Lions tour
England winger Mark Cueto
Cueto scored a hat-trick of tries against Italy
England winger Mark Cueto has set his sights on a place on the Lions tour of New Zealand this summer.

The 25-year-old Sale star was overlooked by Lions boss Clive Woodward when he was in charge of England.

"Obviously I'd love to go and fingers crossed I'm in that squad but we'll just have to wait and see," he said.

"All you can do is just keep your head down and play well for your club for three or four weeks until the squad gets announced."

Cueto hopes his impressive start to his England career that has yielded eight tries in his first eight games will help him secure a place on the tour, which gets underway in June.

He did not make his Test debut until November's international against Canada when he was selected by Andy Robinson, but was an ever-present during England's disappointing Six Nations Championship.

Woodward names his 44-man Lions party on 11 April.
