Wilkinson tipped to bounce back
Jonny Wilkinson
Jonny Wilkinson's fitness guru believes the England captain will come back strongly from his latest injury.

The Newcastle fly-half has already begun his rehabilitation programme after tearing ligaments in his knee.

"I've had to answer questions like this since his first injury," said Newcastle conditioning coach Steve Black.

"I've told everyone I haven't for one moment doubted the fact Jonny would be back as good as new. He's disappointed, but he's in a good frame of mind."

There was not such good news for Wilkinson's Newcastle team-mate Andy Buist who will not play again this season.

The second row was also injured during the defeat by Perpignan and has been ruled out with ruptured knee ligaments.

"We're desperately sorry for Andy to have suffered such a serious injury at a stage in his career," said Falcons boss Rob Andrew.
