Australia trounced Samoa 74-7 in a 12-try demolition in Sydney. Nathan Sharpe celebrated his promotion to the captaincy with two tries, while Stirling Mortlock and Wendell Sailor also crossed twice.
Rocky Elsom, Clyde Rathbone, Mark Chisholm, Chris Latham, Morgan Turinui and Mat Rogers also scored tries.
Terry Fanuolua ran in an opportunistic consolation for the Samoans, converted by replacement Faletoese Talapusi. The Wallabies led 28-0 at half-time.
Samoa prop Census Johnston was cited for a dangerous tackle on Wallabies centre Morgan Turinui in the second half.
He was ordered to appear before the IRB judiciary in Sydney on Sunday.
"It was a pretty positive performance from us but we're not getting too carried away with it," said Australia coach Eddie Jones.
"You have to take the opposition into context and clearly Samoa can play better than this."
Samoa coach Michael Jones said: "Our guys are all pretty despondent and downhearted after this but I told them to keep their heads up.
"We were always up against it and although we were able to hold them for a while, we just couldn't stay with them.
"The way the Wallabies went about their business was very impressive and this was a good reminder of the reality we face. Pride can only take you so far."
