RFU boss Baron said the deal was good for rugby fans |
The Rugby Football Union and Premier Rugby have signed a five-year contract with Sky Sports for international and domestic television rights until 2010. The deal includes many of England's home games in the run-up to their defence of the World Cup in 2007, as well as a Zurich Premiership package.
But BBC Sport will continue to show all of England's Six Nations matches.
"The agreement is a good one as it ensures a continuity of quality coverage," said RFU boss Francis Baron.
Premier Rugby head Howard Thomas added: "It is great news for the premiership clubs and the club supporters."
BBC Sport will televise the autumn internationals involving Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
