Krige was banned for eight weeks for head-butting |
English rugby officials have blocked former South Africa captain Corne Krige's hopes of playing for the Barbarians next month. Krige was suspended until 21 June after head-butting Waikato Chiefs' Derek Maisey while playing for the Stormers.
But Super 12 officials ruled he could still play for the Baa-Baas.
However the RFU council have voted to bar him from games against Scotland, Wales and England on the advice of disciplinary officer Jeff Blackett.
Krige, who has been linked with a move to Northampton next season, has now retired from Super 12.
After receiving the eight-week suspension for the Maisey incident, back-row forward Krige said: "This is not how I wanted to end my Stormers playing days. I have let the team and the supporters down."
