Krige will play for the Barbarians in May |
Former South Africa captain Corne Krige's Super 12 career ended early on Monday when he was banned for eight weeks for head-butting. Krige was suspended until 21 June after an incident in Friday's match between his Stormers side and the Chiefs.
Video evidence showed Krige twice head-butting Chiefs' centre Derek Maisey.
Krige had already indicated he would be retiring from Super 12 rugby at the end of the season and moving to play in England's Premiership.
The New Zealand Rugby Union panel, which considered Krige's "outstanding international record", allowed him to play in three matches for the Barbarians in May.
Krige stood down as Springbok captain after last year's World Cup.
