Moody faces 'make-or-break'

Leicester flanker Lewis Moody looks set to miss England's tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Moody has already been out for four months with a stress fracture of his foot and Leicester coach John Wells is concerned for the 25-year-old's future.

He said: "If Lewis doesn't get his recovery and rehab right, if it goes again or doesn't mend at all, then that could be the end of his career.

"If he rushes back before England's summer tour he will be a fool."

Moody has suffered a relapse in the battle to overcome the injury and faces an eight-week recovery period after his ankle was put back in plaster.

Wells said: "Lewis is at a very make-or-break stage of his career, because if this foot doesn't mend in the way that it should, then it could be the end of him.

"The injury is in the most difficult area to actually repair.

"That said, if he can be patient and go with the recommended rehab regime, we are confident that he can be back and playing by the start of next season.
