Bath's England international forward Steve Borthwick has pledged his future to the club by signing a two-year deal. The 24-year-old second row, who won his ninth cap against Ireland, was named October's Zurich Player of the Month and has played over 150 games for Bath.
"The club has progressed significantly since the start of the season and my game is also advancing a lot," he said.
Director of rugby Jack Rowell said: "He has developed into one of the finest forwards in the country."
Rowell added that the deal represented a step forward for the club in their bid to challenge for top honours.
"An important role in today's game is that of the line-out king who calls the play as well as executing his part in that play and Steve has become a leading exponent at this art," the former England coach said.

"In addition, his play around the field has advanced, making him key to Bath Rugby's performances both now and in years to come."
Bath head coach John Connolly was also glowing in his praise of the second row and said: "He is the backbone of this squad.
"He has many good years ahead of him and we are naturally delighted that he has chosen to extend his stay here.
"He performs so well for the club every time he takes to the field and is a great leader off it. Steve's work ethic is a lesson for any young player coming through."
