Montgomery gets Baa-Baas call-up
South Africa's Percy Montgomery
Montgomery is looking for a new contract
Springbok full-back Percy Montgomery has become the latest name to be added to the Barbarians squad for their tour of England, Scotland and Wales later this month.

Montgomery is one of three new additions to the squad which already includes Kiwi winger Jonah Lomu, Saracens' Thomas Castaignede and England's most-capped forward Jason Leonard.

French winger Christophe Dominici and All Black centre Pita Alatini have also received call-ups.

Montgomery has turned his back on a new South African contract to try and seek a contract in the northern hemisphere.

Lomu is available to play in his third Baa-Baas series as his Super 12 side Wellington has no chance of qualifying for the tournament's latter stages.

The touring team, famous for its exciting brand of running rugby, also contains former All Black captains Taine Randell and Todd Blackadder, as well as flying Kiwi full-back Christian Cullen.

There are also places for promising Scottish flanker Simon Taylor and Newcastle's Samoan workhorse Pat Lam.

There are three uncapped players named in the 24-man party - Saracens' lock Kieran Roche, flanker Kupo Vanisi of Wellington Hurricanes, and Waikato back Roger Randle.

The squad - which boasts 843 international caps - will be coached by former Australia coach Rod Macqueen, assisted by former France centre Philippe Sella.

On their last tour of Britain the Baa-Baas won all three games, beating England 43-29, Wales 40-38 and Scotland 74-31.

After opening up against England on 26 May, the team play Wales on 29 May followed by Scotland on 1 June.
