Ian Millward says relegation from the engage Super League is a very real threat to his struggling Wigan side.
The Warriors suffered the heaviest defeat in their history on Sunday as they crashed out of the Challenge Cup.
"Just because we are Wigan doesn't give us any right to be in Super League," said a deflated Millward.
"We are in a situation where we need to win games, but we haven't scored a try in two games and have conceded over 140 points in those two games."
Millward says he will sit down with Wigan chairman Maurice Lindsay on Monday to discuss ways of safeguarding the club's top-flight status.
That could mean bringing in players to boost his squad, which has been hit badly by injuries.
"We'll go through players and what we do in the long term and what we do in the short term," said the Australian.

"There are a lot of tough decisions to be made and a lot of things have got to be done."
Millward is also keen to get the most out of the players currently at his disposal.
"Our completion rate is horrendous, our error rate is horrendous, our lack of carrying out instructions is horrendous. They are all key areas we've got to pick up.
"I obviously don't want to dwell on the past because we've got to make sure we move on, but this is the biggest challenge I've been involved in."
