Gasnier refutes Wigan talk
Mark Gasnier has endured a troubled past 12 months
Gasnier wants to remain a Dragon
Australian centre Mark Gasnier has denied fresh rumours he is set to join Wigan at the end of the NRL season.

Gasnier was linked with the Warriors last year before signing a long-term deal with St George Illawarra.

The 22-year-old, who scored four tries for the Dragons on Sunday against Wests Tigers, has had a troubled 12 months.

"My team-mates have been tremendous, especially with what I've been through this year," Gasnier said. "I'll stick by them as well."

He took time off earlier this season amid speculation he was ready to retire from rugby league.

Gasnier bounced back to win a place in the NSW side for the opening State of Origin game, but was dropped before the game following a wild bonding session.

The Dragons fined him heavily for making a lewd phone call to a woman during the session and he was suspended for a match.

The former international suffered an ankle injury against Brisbane the following week which has troubled him ever since, and he left the field on Sunday against the Tigers as a precautionary measure.
