Widnes have bolstered their squad with the signing of St Helens 22-year-old centre or back-row forward Gray Viane.

New Zealand-born Viane, who has a Samoan passport, played four games for Saints last season after leaving Wests Tigers but has not played this year.

The 6ft, 14st 7lb Viane has signed until the end of the season and is set to make his debut at Hull on 10 April.

Widnes have also signed Warrington scrum-half Jamie Durbin on a month's loan as they seek to climb the table.
