Penny extends Warrington contract
Kevin Penny
Penny has become an automatic choice for Warrington this year
Warrington's free-scoring winger Kevin Penny has signed a new, enhanced four-year deal keeping him at the club until the end of the 2011 season.

The 19-year-old has been one of the finds of the season with nine tries in six games, including an eight-minute hat-trick in the 42-6 win over Salford.

"I'm honoured they wanted me to stay. That made the decision easy," he said.

"He's taken his chance exceptionally well. I'm delighted he's committed his future to us," said coach Paul Cullen.

A Warrington Academy product, Penny made his first-team debut as a replacement against St Helens last year but was called into the first team this season because of an injury crisis.

His first start was against Leeds on 1 June and since then he has become a fixture in the side.

"We have some awesome players at the club with more awesome players coming in," said Penny.

"I will learn a lot especially from the likes of Chris Hicks and Matt King who I think is one of the best players in the world at this moment.

"But at the moment I am very focused on this season and producing the goods for the Warrington Wolves."
