Morley was making his Warrington debut against Wigan on Friday |
Warrington forward Adrian Morley underwent surgery on Thursday after fracturing his left eye socket on his Wolves debut against Wigan on Friday. The Great Britain star, who sustained the damage in a collision with Eamonn O'Carroll, will be out of action for a minimum of six weeks.
Morley joined Wolves in the off-season after six years at Sydney Roosters.
Wolves stand-off Chris Bridge will also miss at least six weeks after tearing his left hamstring in the match.
Morley, who will have a metal plate inserted to protect his eye socket, will be sidelined until April and will miss the fourth round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup when Super League clubs hit the road to Wembley.
"We are hardened by last season's injury crisis and are very proud of the way the team responded to the two losses to secure the win at Wigan," said Wolves coach Paul Cullen.
