 | I will still play the style I've always played Warrington's Adrian Morley |
Great Britain forward Adrian Morley believes his spell with Warrington will see him produce the best form of his illustrious career. Morley has returned to Super League with the Wolves after six years in the NRL at the Sydney Roosters.
"I'm still only 29 and hopefully my best years are in front of me," said the Great Britain international.
"When you get older, you get quicker between the ears. I think the next two years will be the best of my career."
Morley left Leeds Rhinos in 2000 and won the NRL Grand Final with the Roosters in 2002.
He established himself as one of the best forwards in the world with his no-nonsense performances for the Roosters, but insisted his return to Super League would see him at the peak of his powers.
"My body is holding up well and in the last couple of years I've not had any injuries at all," he said.
"I've signed for three plus an option for a fourth and there is no reason why I can't finish this contract and go and play some more.
"I feel as though I can give Warrington four good years."
Morley, who was sent off 12 seconds into a Test match against Australia in 2003, earned 11 suspensions during his time in the NRL but said he had no intention of changing his approach.
"I'll just play my normal game," he said. "Warrington have signed me for the player I am so I'm not going to change.
"There will be a few players there who have a few points to prove but that's all part of rugby league. I'm looking forward to everything.
"I do believe I'm a bit more mature and wise now and I won't be doing the foolish things I've done in the past.
"I've not got a great record but this is starting afresh. The system in Australia didn't really do me any favours. Half the time I wouldn't have got suspended in the UK.
"I'm on a clean slate and I'm just looking forward to playing. I will still play the style I've always played."
