Meanwhile, England international Ben Westwood has extended his contract with Wolves until 2009, enthusing: "This club is going places."

Westwood, who joined the Wolves midway through the 2002 season from Wakefield, said: "Working with (manager) Paul Cullen has given me the opportunity to develop my game.

"When the chance came to extend my future with the club I did not hesitate, I want to be part of their success.

Boss Cullen was delighted to welcome Parker into his squad and commented: "He's a player we've admired for a considerable period. Our squad is stronger with his inclusion."
