Appo axed to make way for Johns
Warrington
Warrington have revealed that Graham Appo will be the player to make way for Andrew Johns when the Australian begins his short-term stint at the Wolves.

Super League clubs are only allowed three overseas players, which means Warrington had to axe either Appo, Nathan Wood or Brent Grose.

But with Appo sidelined with a shoulder injury, he was the one to go.

"Contractually he is secure and he won't lose out financially in this situation," said coach Paul Cullen.

Johns is expected to make his first appearance for Warrington against Leeds on 11 September.

The game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium is already heading for a 13,000 sell-out.
