Sculthorpe set for Wakefield move
Danny Sculthorpe
Sculthorpe was a key figure for Castleford last season
Wakefield are expected to announce the signing of Wigan prop Danny Sculthorpe in the next few days.

The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with Castleford, scoring four tries in his 19 appearances before their relegation from Super League.

But Sculthorpe has been released from the last year of his contract at the JJB Stadium.

Sculthorpe will link up with Wildcats coach John Kear after working together at Wigan and with England Under-21s.

"I know it meant a great deal to him to stay in Super League and he will achieve this with Wakefield," Warriors chairman Maurice Lindsay told the Wigan Observer.

"Danny has been released by us and, as a free agent, has negotiated himself a deal with Wakefield.

"I wish Danny all the best for the future and thank him for his contributions to Wigan in the past.

"It means he will again be facing up to his former Wigan team-mates at the highest level and I know he will be relishing this just as much as we are."

Wigan have also released prop Bryn Hargreaves who is expected to sign for National League One side Leigh, where he spent part of last season on loan.
