St Helens have signed winger Daniel Brotherton on a part-time professional contract from Northampton Demons. The 18-year-old has been on trial with the Saints throughout August and has impressed enough to earn a deal. Saints' Under-18s coach Derek Traynor told the club website: "Dan has shown enough of his talents and has lots of potential but still has to learn. "He has good athletic abilities and we are all excited about monitoring his development in rugby league." Whilst on trial, he scored three tries in two matches and is now in the Saints squad for the Carnegie Nines.
