St Helens prop Bryn Hargreaves has eyes on second spot

St Helens prop Bryn Hargreaves says the club must make the most of their final two Super League games to guarantee second place in the table.

Saints currently only trail second-placed Warrington on points difference ahead of Saturday's game at Crusaders.

He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "We've got a massive couple of weeks coming up with Castleford and the Crusaders.

"We've got a one track mind at the minute as second place is what we're gunning for and it's what we need."

Hargreaves has been impressed with how far St Helens have come this season, given the injury problems the squad has endured during the campaign.

But after bowing out of the Challenge Cup to Leeds in the semi-final, he is hoping that last weekend's convincing 60-12 victory over Bradford, and the prospect of key players returning to the fold, will help propel Saints to another Grand Final appearance.

It's been a tough season with injuries - we've been mauled

"It's been a tough season with injuries - we've been mauled," Hargreaves continued. "Players have had to go above and beyond by playing in different positions.

"It's hard to get continuity when you've got a different half-back pairing every week. It's tough for the side to adapt, but hopefully we'll have Kyle Eastmond back at the weekend.

"Jonny Lomax had an outstanding game (against Bradford) and he looked lively and he was unbelievable. So it felt really good and we felt more organised at the weekend.

"Hopefully we can take that momentum we've picked up and carry it through to the Grand Final."
