Cunningham has played his whole senior career at St Helens |
St Helens' Keiron Cunningham felt his side were fortunate to claim a 17-16 win over Warrington on Saturday. Cunningham told BBC Radio Merseyside: "To be honest, I don't think we deserved it. We got out of jail, I think they deserved the game." Saints only grabbed victory after Shaun Long kicked a last-minute drop goal "Warrington were outstanding in defence and in attack. They handled everything we threw at them and we sort of picked their pocket at the end," he added. The win was Saints' 18th in a row and Cunningham says that the teams past experience is key to their success, but also admits his side knew it would be a tough match. "The Warrington against Saints games are always thrillers and we're lucky if there's any points in it. I genually thought they'd got us today. "But our last seven minutes were the best of the whole game. We took our chances, especially when Longy smoked another drop-goal for us."
