Anderson was unhappy with the refereeing against Huddersfield |
Daniel Anderson has called for the introduction of video technology at every Super League game in a bid to cut down the number of refereeing errors. "Everyone wants it. It would certainly add credibility to our game," the St Helens coach told BBC Radio Merseyside. At present, only matches shown live on television have the use of replays. Anderson added: "When you look at all the tries that are on non-Sky games, there are a significant number of them that are questionable." Anderson's plea comes after he criticised referee Ian Smith for his performance in Monday's 28-26 loss to Huddersfield Giants. He felt a number of decisions had gone against his team but was particularly upset with the one that resulted in a try for Huddersfield's Paul Whatuira. "I didn't think we got the rub of the green on anything on Monday," said the former New Zealand boss. Anderson said Super League coaches have been debating the issue of replays for some time. "We had a coaches meeting about six weeks ago and we spoke about the need for video refs," he said. "For the money they would save on the in-goal touch judges, you might be able to get a camera at each end."
