Winger Ade Gardner had to miss St Helens' defeat by Leeds on Saturday after being beaten up, according to Saints coach Daniel Anderson. The 23-year-old was allegedly attacked in his home town of Barrow-in-Furness and sustained an eye injury. "He was clobbered in Barrow last weekend - the police are investigating via CCTV," said Anderson. "He has an eye injury. We'll have to wait for the green light from the specialist before he can play again."
