Gilmour's experience is important for St Helens |
St Helens second-rower Lee Gilmour faces two months on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation. The Great Britain star was forced off with the problem early in last week's victory over the Catalans Dragons.
Saints are already without Jason Hooper who is set to miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury while Jon Wilkin is out with a broken hand.
They also have a worry over scrum-half Sean Long who had to go off with an ankle injury against Leeds on Saturday.
In addition, Australian centre Matt Gidley was taken ill on the coach on the way to Headingley and had to drop out of the team.
"He had been crook all day and was too dehydrated and sick to play," said Anderson.
"He went back home as soon as we got to the ground."
