Sculthorpe missed last season's Tri-Nations Series because of injury |
Great Britain captain Paul Sculthorpe has targeted St Helens' game against Huddersfield on 4 August to make his comeback from his latest knee injury. Sculthorpe damaged his left knee in the Lions' 46-14 win over New Zealand on 27 June, but has made a rapid recovery.
The 28-year-old missed the 2005 Tri-Nations Series after having major surgery on his right knee.
"He's really happy. The specialist said there's nothing wrong with his knee," said Saints coach Daniel Anderson.
"He went down to London for a full body makeover and got a whole heap of fantastic results.
"Scully is coming on really well."
Meanwhile, Anderson has rejected reports linking scrum-half Sean Long with a move to Warrington.
"No one has rung me and I know what response they'd get," said Anderson.
"Everyone here knows that Sean is not going anywhere. He's an important cog in the machine here."
