Salford hit Warrington with a four-try second-half burst to clinch a third Super League victory of the season against their play-off rivals.
The Wolves led 14-12 at the break and stretched their advantage to 22-12 with a Chris Bridge try and a penalty from playmaker Lee Briers.
But the Reds ran in four tries during a blistering 18-minute spell.
Warrington hit back through Michael Sullivan and Brent Grose but an Andrew Dunemann drop-goal kept the Reds clear.
Salford coach Karl Harrison:
"We were really poor in the first half and Warrington were pretty smart. "We just tried to cross in the first half and had a 53% ball retention which gave them a lot of field position.
"They then scored a try right after the break but we began to get a little bit more composure and went back to basics.
"We got down their end, scored some tries, and it was a really gutsy performance."
Wolves coach Paul Cullen:
"We've offered one error too many and Salford are a good team in good form. "The game was there for both teams to take right throughout the night. It was a very good game and we were much improved from our Bradford performance.
"[Captain Lee Briers] played very well and is a very decent player - but he deserves a bit more concentration from his team-mates."
