Harlequins prop Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook will be named in England's initial elite training squad, BBC London 94.9 understands. The 23-year-old Londoner was selected for England's provisional World Cup squad last year but did not make the final cut for Australia. McCarthy-Scarsbrook is in his fourth Super League season after joining Quins from Greenwich Admirals. The provisional England squad will be announced on Thursday. The majority is expected to be drawn from last year's World Cup squad is likely to be a mixture of seasoned internationals and up-and-coming talent. The initial group of 17 will also form part of a National Registered Testing Pool of players who under new World Anti-Doping Agency rules will have to give their whereabouts for an hour each day for the next 365 days.
