Harlequins chairman Hogg resigns

Harlequins

Harlequins chairman Keith Hogg has resigned, citing family and business reasons for his departure after only 15 months in the role.

Hogg will be replaced at the Twickenham Stoop by former chairman David Hughes.

"I live in Scotland and it really isn't fair on my family for me to spend as much time travelling to games as I have done over the last year," Hogg said.

"I also need to progress my commercial interests, and these are now largely in Scotland," he added.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as chairman of Harlequins Rugby League, and in an ideal world I would love to continue."

Hogg's successor David Hughes is the club's majority shareholder, and previously held the post of chairman after the sale of the then London Broncos by Sir Richard Branson in 2001.

Hughes said: "I would like to thank Keith for all his hard work on behalf of the club. He must be the most travelled person in UK rugby league in recent times."
