Harlequins have revealed their 47-28 Super League defeat by Wigan Warriors was watched by a record crowd for a Quins' home game. A total of 8,041 spectators packed into The Stoop, well up on last season's average of 3,500.
For the first time in the club's history the East Stand was sold out. The North Stand, which was unused in 2007, was two-thirds full.
Quins chief executive Paul Brown hailed Wigan's fans after the game.
He said: "A club like Wigan Warriors will always generate a lot of interest and they have a fantastic band of supporters that were wonderful in travelling down to London to support their team.
"Our community team also played an instrumental role in the attendance we had at the weekend. They had record numbers of tickets requested by the various schools they work with across London."
Harlequins travel to Hull this Sunday, with kick off 1515 GMT. You can hear full commentary of the game on the BBC London website.
