Stewart began his career at St Helens |
Harlequins have signed Salford winger Anthony Stewart on a permanent move. Stewart started with St Helens, making his debut in 1997 before joined the Reds in 2004, after a loan spell.
"He's a useful player and his style will fit nicely here. On top of that he's a good bloke - that's very important," said coach Brian McDermott.
"With any new staff or players, it's vitally important that they have the right personal attributes and Anthony has them."
Stewart is new coach McDermott's second permanent signing, following the arrival of Paul Noone from Warrington.
Quins are also due to make a new coaching appointment before Saturday's game with Hull.
