The London Broncos will have to meet six conditions to continue competing in the Super League, BBC Sport has learnt.

But the Rugby Football League and Broncos chief executive Nic Cartwright would not reveal the conditions.

He said some people would describe them as "onerous", but added the club was happy to abide by them.

"We're not bleating at all," he told BBC Sport. "We totally understand the need for the conditions and we will respect them and follow them in full."

The Broncos have gone into liquidation with debts of around �3m but were given the green light to carry on playing after an emergency meeting of Super League clubs on Friday.

Cartwright said the Broncos were looking forward to the future after a difficult time for the only top-flight rugby league club south of Cheshire.

"They gave us six conditions, we didn't negotiate, we agreed to all of them," he said.

"I don't think it's been done before that clubs have been given these extra conditions.

"We're obviously glad we're through it but it's not really a time for celebration. We've got a lot of work still to do.

"We're very happy that we're still here and we're very grateful to the game for supporting us.

"We're now in a decent position financially. We've got to clear up the mess from before but that's been dealt with from the club's perspective."
