Leeds Rhinos overdue a Challenge Cup win - Keith Senior
CARNEGIE CHALLENGE CUP SEMI-FINAL Venue: Galpharm Stadium Date: Saturday, 7 August Kick-off: 1430 BST Coverage: Live on BBC 1 and BBC Sport website; full commentary on BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Radio Merseyside
Senior signed a new one-year deal at Leeds in June
Veteran Leeds centre Keith Senior says the Rhinos are overdue a Challenge Cup success, as they prepare to face St Helens in the semi-final on Saturday.
"It's been a long time," he told BBC Radio Leeds. "There's only me and Jamie Peacock here that have won a Challenge Cup [and that was] with other clubs.
"It's time we started pulling our finger out with this trophy."
Senior, 34, won the cup with Sheffield Eagles in 1998, while Peacock won with Bradford Bulls, against Leeds, in 2000.
A first chance to play at the new Wembley is an additional spur for Senior.
"I was fortunate enough to play at the old one but I've not been to this new one, and it would be nice to get there - so we'll just have to make sure we're on form on Saturday," he added.
The 32-year-old prop forward Peacock, whose cup final triumph for the Bulls came at Murrayfield, said: "Two of my remaining goals in the game are to win the Challenge Cup with Leeds and to play at Wembley - I've not fulfilled either yet.
"Winning on Saturday would achieve one and go a long way towards achieving the other."
And the England captain conceded that the Rhinos are under pressure to turn in some big performances, both in Super League and the Challenge Cup, between now and the end of the season.
"We're in must-win football all the time at the moment. But experience is always good and we know what's required as a team and the players know what's required to win big games.
"It's not new to us and it probably gives us an edge over some other teams."
