Leeds prop Barrie McDermott will end his successful 15-year playing career at the end of the season and take up a coaching role with the club. The Oldham-born 32-year-old started out with his hometown team before moving to Wigan and then Leeds in 1995 - where he is now in his testimonial year.
He earned 15 Great Britain caps, represented Ireland in the 2000 World Cup and lifted every domestic honour.
McDermott said: "I feel the timing is right for me to begin a new chapter.
