Leeds have made their fourth signing of the close season with the capture of Wests Tigers forward Mark O'Neill. The 30-year-old Australian, who can play at second row or prop, has agreed a one-year contract with the Rhinos.
"We are delighted to have signed a player of Mark's experience and quality," said coach Tony Smith.
"He is perhaps a player that some Super League fans may not know too much about but he has built up a tremendous reputation over the past decade."
Smith added: "He is a no-nonsense player who can play in either the second row or at prop and will add a great deal to our forward options.
"He is a very committed individual, having played for the same club all his professional career, and there was only one club he wanted to join in this country."
O'Neill, who will arrive at Headingley in the next couple of weeks, captained the Tigers side last season before elbow surgery kept him out for 12 weeks in the middle of the season.
He returned to the side and was an ever present in the Tigers march to their first NRL Grand Final title, scoring against Brisbane Broncos in the play-offs.
"I am very excited at the opportunity to come to England and play for the Rhinos," said O'Neill.
"I will do everything I can to help them go one step further next season.
"The Rhinos have a great reputation over here and I am also looking forward to learning from Tony Smith."
