Burrow has come into his own since McGuire's injury problems |
Leeds scrum-half Rob Burrow has signed a new five-year contract extension. The 22-year-old is now committed to
the Super League champions until the end of the 2010 season.
Burrow is the Rhinos' joint-top try-scorer this term with 20 from 18 games and has also been named in Great Britain's training squad.
Burrow said: "I've never wanted to play for any other club. There is a great group of players here and I want to be part of something special."
Burrow has cemented a first-team place this season with last year's half-back star Danny McGuire enduring an injury-hit campaign.
His form has made him a strong contender for a place in the Britain side for this year's Tri-Nations.
Leeds chief executive Gary Hetherington said: "It is unusual to give someone a five-year contract.
"However, when Rob joined the club as a junior he made no secret of the fact that he only ever wanted to play for Leeds.
"He was keen to sign a long-term contract and we were happy to offer it to him."
