Newton was a key member of the Storm's NRL-winning team |
Hull KR are set to strengthen their squad for next year's Super League season with the signing of Clint Newton from NRL champions Melbourne Storm. The back-rower rejected a move to former club Newcastle Knights, opting for a two-year deal with the Robins.
Despite wanting to stay with the Storm, Newton was forced to leave because of strict NRL salary cap regulations.
"If there's a chance of playing for them again I'd definitely be interested," said the 26-year-old.

Newton's fate at the Storm was sealed when fellow back-rower Jeremy Smith decided to stay in Melbourne after rejecting the advances of St George Illawarra Dragons.
Newton joined the Storm midway through last season from the Knights after a public falling out with coach Brian Smith.
"I've had a great time at the Storm and I'll always be grateful they gave me the chance to continue playing in the NRL when I left Newcastle," added Newton.
