Reports say Hull centre Kirk Yeaman may have been assaulted

With only the Hull FC players still on the field after their 30-20 win, away fans came onto the pitch, followed by supporters of the home side.

The two sets of fans then clashed, with reports claiming Hull centre Kirk Yeaman may have been assaulted.

The RFL said: "We will be investigating and will be talking to both clubs."

Both Hull and Hull KR have promised to ban for life anyone found guilty of being involved in the trouble.

"Both clubs are very disappointed," said Rovers chief executive Paul Lakin.

"Both clubs will be holding a full investigation into any incidents evolving from the fans running on to the pitch.

"We'll be working together and in the case of any perpetrators that are found on camera and identified, both clubs will ban the relevant fans from their own grounds."

Hull chief James Rule added: "I'm very disappointed in the scenes at the end and obviously we need to complete our investigations and see what the outcomes are.

"We were very proud of the fact that the first derby at the KC (stadium) went without a problem.

"Predominantly I think the fans' intention on both sides was just to celebrate the event but it's unacceptable in the modern era to be trying to get onto a pitch and I would echo Paul's sentiments.

"There was one incident that I saw and we'll be looking to identify them and we'll ban them from the KC Stadium for life.

"I would expect Paul would do the same here, because in the modern game that's unacceptable and takes the gloss off another great derby."

Rule added he "wouldn't like to comment at this stage" as to whether or not Great Britain centre Yeaman was attacked.

"There's been an allegation that it is possibly the case but I haven't spoken to the player in question yet," he said.
