Tansey spent one season with Sydney Roosters in the NRL |
Hull FC have terminated the contract of full-back Jordan Tansey with immediate effect for disciplinary reasons - just days before the start of the season. Tansey, 24, was left out of the pre-season friendly with Castleford on 30 January for a breach of discipline. It was the third time in 12 months that the former Leeds man had been punished for his off-field behaviour. Richard Whiting is expected to take Tansey's place in Sunday's season opener against Hull KR in Cardiff. In a statement, the club said: "Hull FC have terminated the contract of Jordan Tansey with immediate effect following disciplinary action. The club will be making no further comment." Tansey, who returned to England when he signed for Hull from Sydney Roosters in 2009, was first dropped by Richard Agar last February for the game against Harlequins. He was then again left out of Hull's team for last September's play-off defeat by Hull KR after another misdemeanour. And the last straw came nine days ago when he was omitted from the side due to play Castleford.
