Hull FC's Richard Whiting will miss the rest of the season after breaking his left leg in the defeat at Harlequins.

The utility back, 23, had only recently returned from three-and-a-half months on the sidelines with a broken arm.

"I feel so sorry for Richard because he has worked so hard to come back from his broken arm," said Peter Sharp.

The Airlie Birds coach added: "It is another sad loss and once again we just seem to get a player back and then lose one, but we have to rise above that."

It is thought that Whiting will undergo an operation in London before returning to Hull.
