Australian scrum-half Dobson could help solve Hull's injury crisis

Hull FC are chasing former Catalan Dragons and Wigan half-back Michael Dobson as a replacement for the injured Richard Horne.

The 21-year-old Australian is currently with Canberra Raiders, but is out of the first-team picture at the moment.

Great Britain star Horne is out of action indefinitely with a neck injury and has to wear a brace for six weeks.

Dobson shot to fame when he covered for the injured Stacey Jones during the Dragons' first season in Super League.

He was then signed by Wigan as they faced a relegation battle when injuries bit hard into the playing resources at the JJB Stadium in 2006.

If Hull coach Peter Sharp manages to secure the services of the enigmatic Dobson, he will have to shuffle things around at half-back because he already has an Australian scrum-half.

Former Cronulla Sharks scrum-half Adam Dykes was signed at the beginning of the season on a two-year contract, leaving Sharp to ponder long and hard about who plays where if Dobson, who is also a number seven, comes to the KC Stadium.
