Hull caretaker coach Richard Agar will stay on at the club until the end of the 2008 season after agreeing a new contract on Tuesday. Agar has been in temporary charge since the departure of John Kear and will stay on when new head coach Peter Sharp arrives from Parramatta. During his stand-in period at the KC Stadium, Agar has led the club to three victories in four matches. "I'm delighted to get the chance to extend my time here," said Agar. "It wasn't a difficult decision to make. I have enjoyed my time here at the KC Stadium and I am looking forward to furthering my education as a coach over the next two years." Hull chairman Kath Hetherington welcomed the decision. She added: "Richard is an outstanding coach who has been an integral part of the club's recent success and continued development."
