Brown has ruptured ligaments in his right knee |
Huddersfield Giants captain Kevin Brown has been ruled out for up to six weeks after scans revealed he has ruptured ligaments in his right knee. The England stand-off, 26, picked up the injury in the opening stages of Sunday's defeat at Bradford Bulls. It means Brown will miss the Giants' Challenge Cup quarter-final at Castleford on Sunday. "The thought of missing the quarter-final is tough to take," Brown told the club's official website. "I suppose the only consolation is that it could have been a lot worse. "As soon as I picked up the injury I knew I'd done some damage. As well as feeling the pain I heard a 'pop', which is what happened when I injured my knee in the 2009 cup final. "Fortunately it's nowhere near as bad."
